BlackLight Summit

A Black, POC, and LGBTQIA+ celebratory space and an open invitation for participation, learning, and conversation with all. Come as you are. See us as we are. Imagine and act on what can be.

Conceived and directed by Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Guest Curator Tariq O’Meally, BlackLight is a year-long initiative of socially engaged workshops, radical reimagining projects, and individual mentoring sessions for DMV students. I’m so pleased to work alongside Tariq O’Meally and Ronya-Lee Anderson to coordinate the BlackLight Career Readiness Program and other educational initiatives for the Summit, which culminates in three days exploring legacy, citizenship, and scholarship March 4th-6th, 2021. The Summit is entirely free and virtual.
